It's good to be writing to you again. This time, it is all the more special on account of the strategic progress and expansions that the SRS Group has made recently, in the process, infusing new energy, heightened excitement and courageous ambition. Let me share these with you one by one.
First and foremost, the SRS Group made its mark on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Our real estate company, SRS Real Infrastructure Limited got listed on the BSE on 25th January 2011 over a glittering ceremony presided over by top BSE and company officials as well senior bankers, key guests and the media community. This is a landmark development as it will surely propel SRS Real Infrastructure Limited to even higher levels of corporate governance, transparency and professionalism. Needless to say, this will in turn lead to faster growth, higher profitability and a larger stature in the public domain. It will also motivate us to further increase our focus on good corporate citizenship, and on giving back to the society for the larger good of everyone associated with us. And of course, equally important is the fact that the listing will also enable scores of investors from across the country to participate in the success story of the company.
Let me now inform you of our expansion drive of the last two months. We recently launched a new state-of-the-art multiplex at Faridabad, with a view to bring the best in cinematographic experience for the viewers, and consolidate our leadership position in the region. This takes our total tally up to 11 multiplexes, with a total of 30 screens and 7608 seats. Our expanding footprint and market penetration is the result of our long term strategy to become the best and most admired brand on the strength of delivering a fabulous consumer experience.
On the retail front, we launched a premium world-class retail store in Gurgaon. What makes it special is that apart from having items of daily need, it offers a host of high end offerings such as imported food products, exotic fruits and vegetables, gourmet bakery and the like. So in that sense, it actually brings the world at the feet of our consumers, and pampers them with endless choice, big savings and exciting deals. This is our 23rd store, and promises to be one of the leading stores of the area.
I would also like to underscore that both the above are in territories where we already have significant presence – this is a pointer to the preference SRS enjoys in these locations as well as demonstrates our long-lasting commitment to these markets.
We had been planning to add force to our jewellery business and this resulted in the launch of our second store at the up-market Rajouri Garden in New Delhi. Designed to give a super-premium ambience with the finest in designs and customer service, this dazzling new store is already the talk of the town. I am happy to tell you that it is enjoying a fabulous response from the people – no mean achievement considering that it is in a densely competitive marketplace that has a plethora of premium jewellery stores.
But the good news doesn't end here. In January 2011, we initiated the process of giving possession of SRS Residency in Sector 88, Greater Faridabad. This welcome move makes SRS one of the first few brands to hand over the possession of the real estate projects in that area. This has generated a lot of goodwill and faith in the company, and has further solidified SRS Group's position in the market place.
With these developments, the SRS Group is flowing smoothly on the highway of sustainable and profitable growth. We are expanding judiciously across our varied business verticals of real estate, film exhibition, food & beverages, retail and jewellery. But as we do that, we once again remind ourselves that our core focus is still serving our consumers in an honest and delightful manner, and also give back to the society as a responsible corporate citizen.
In totality, we are now looking at the road ahead confidently, and hope to fully leverage the opportunities thrown up by the Indian economy. To us, it is a matter of pride to be a fine business institution that is contributing to the country's economic development in its own way, and enriching society as a whole.
